DITAworks now with Getting Started Assistant

DITAworks will have another layer of inbuilt support through the new Getting Started Assistant. This Assistant will guide new users through the steps involved in generating quality DITA documentation and how to make the best use of the comprehensive CMS functionality of DITAworks.

Stuttgart, March 03, 2015 – *instinctools has strengthened the support system for their DITA CMS, DITAworks, by introducing the new Getting Started Assistant. DITAworks users can now use this inbuilt Assistant for the initial introduction of DITAworks or to easily call it to go through step by step guidance whenever they want.

Among the recent updates for DITAworks, the emphasis has been to provide the users a smooth and pleasant user experience without getting lost in the complexities of a CMS. Most of the times, users new to DITA or to CMS lose their way because of the plethora of possibilities. The new Assistant gives an initial introduction and goes step by step through the different components of the DITAworks CMS to help the user easily deliver quality DITA documentation in a productive and efficient manner.

This Assistant is unobtrusively placed in the DITAworks UI and can be easily called or recalled when needed. It has been implemented in a way so that the user can interactively learn while reading the introductions. It provides a hands-on learning experience to maximize the learning potential. An arrow points to the component being introduced so that while the users are reading about it, they can also see where it is placed and work with it. It follows a sequential progress of the documentation development and management so that even a novice will find it educational. The seasoned DITA professionals can find it equally educational to get acquainted with the DITAworks CMS components and how they can make the best use of it.
